I promise it will be worth it.

"We're fascinated by the words--but where we meet is in the silence behind them."

"The quieter you become, the more you can hear."

"We're all just walking each other home."

"As long as you have certain desires about how it ought to be you can't see how it is."

"The heart surrenders everything to the moment. The mind judges and holds back."

"Your problem is you are too busy holding on to your unworthiness."

"The most exquisite paradox… as soon as you give it all up, you can have it all. As long as you want power, you can't have it. The minute you don't want power, you'll have more than you ever dreamed possible."

that's Awareness!"

"Information is just bits of data. Knowledge is putting them together. Wisdom is transcending them."

"The most important aspect of love is not in giving or the receiving: it's in the being. When I need love from others, or need to give love to others, I'm caught in an unstable situation. We Love to Float!

The last several days I have been going to the beach here in South Carolina and playing in the ocean. Every time we float and swim in the ocean I feel completely cleansed and renewed afterwards in a really amazing way. Dan and I have been making a point to go as much as possible because of how good we feel afterwards---my whole body feels relaxed and energized simultaneously and my mind becomes incredibly peaceful and still. I guess it makes sense, surrendering yourself to the strong and powerful ocean. Dan says swimming in the ocean water is one of the most alkalizing things you can do for yourself---and we definitely FEEL it afterwards.

The only time I felt something more powerfully relaxing was after floating in a sensory deprivation tank or "float tanks." I recommend this healing modality to anyone and everyone. It is so relaxing and easy. I know the name "sensory deprivation" and "isolation tank" sounds somewhat intimidating, but I promise you it is so cool and not scary at all. I remember the first time I floated was in the middle of doing my first juice cleanse and my body released so much stress and tension in that water that I felt like I inhabited a whole new body when I stepped out.

I really like the way Joe Rogan describes his experiences with the float tanks in this video. There is some foul language (be warned) and he gets pretty deep ( I love it haha).

Lie he said, you have to get in the tank a few times before you really start to drop the mind. My first experiences really relaxed my body and released tension more than anything else. My being felt very calm afterwards as well.

Intense Relaxation
Relieve old injuries (especially back aches etc.)
Ease Arthritis
Release Endorphins – the body’s natural pain killer and happy pill.
Improve the condition of the skin.
Detoxify the system.
Useful in pregnancy (for the full 9 months).
Increase creativity and imagination.
Increase circulation and energy levels.
Balance the left and right brain.
Improve concentration.
An aid for addictions, phobias and depression.
Regulate sleeping patterns – simulates 4 hours of sleep.
Relieve stress.

If you want to float, check out this website and find the nearest floatation tank near you :)

A Story about Acids and Mucus in your Body

I have tried to gather as much information as I can to help people fully understand the importance of having a balanced pH level in their body. It was gaining the full knowledge on the effects of acidosis in the body that has inspired me to detox myself and to do whatever I can to help others regain their health with alkalization through fresh fruits and vegetables. I know how important it is to FULLY understand the science behind any changes you make with your body because it helps healing to occur faster when your brain and belief is backing up the physical processes.  Yes, physically you will be doing the right thing for recovery of illness but you will also be mentally and emotionally on board as well because you are empowered with the knowledge of what you are undertaking with your changes in diet and lifestyle.

As you probably know, people get into raw foods for many different reasons. For anyone who has read Dr. Arnold Ehret's "Mucusless Diet Healing System" or is familiar with Dr.Morse's teachings- then you already have a good understanding as to what Dan and I are reaching for with raw foods, herbs and fasting. Throughout the last 7 months I have seen and heard thousands of testimonials from people all over the world who have used my partner Dan McDonald's program of clean raw foods, herbs, fasting and cultivation of self-love to heal or reverse symptoms of every type of ailment and illness I can think of. This includes cancer, diabetes, chronic pain and inflammation in the body, digestive problems, adrenal weakness and fatigue, morbid obesity, arthritis, ulcers, constipation, diarrhea, depression and many more random conditions. If that wasn't enough proof to give me confidence in the power of living foods, I was soon enrolled in the International School of Detoxification where I studied with Dr. Robert Morse and learned how and why raw foods can literally "cleanse" out dis-ease conditions in the body- even the ones our doctors would tell us are incurable.

The countless names of illnesses do not really matter. What does matter is that they all come from the same root cause...too much tissue acid waste in the body!—Theodore A. Baroody, N.D., D.C., Ph.D.

For anyone who isn't familiar with the findings of these doctors, you may be surprised to hear that most illness in the body stems from acidosis- an over acidic condition in the body. Our bodies work very hard to maintain a balance of acid vs. alkalinity or pH level. This over acidic state then creates an excess of mucus in the body--mainly within the lymphatic system.  Our body creates excess mucus to protect the cells from acid irritants, or any other toxins for that matter, that we mainly bring into the body through our diet, the air we breathe and what we put on our skin.  Interestingly, negative emotions such as fear and guilt can also add to the acidic load in the body.

Mild acidosis can cause such problems as:
  • Cardiovascular damage, including the constriction of blood vessels and the reduction of oxygen.
  • Weight gain, obesity and diabetes.
  • Bladder and kidney conditions, including kidney stones.
  • Immune deficiency.
  • Acceleration of free radical damage, contributing to cancerous mutations.
  • Hormone concerns.
  • Premature aging.
  • Osteoporosis; weak, brittle bones, hip fractures and bone spurs.
  • Joint pain, aching muscles and lactic acid buildup.
  • Low energy and chronic fatigue.
  • Slow digestion and elimination.
  • Yeast/fungal overgrowth.

This is why alkalization is so important to regaining our health and vitality. The pH balance of the human body should be approximately 80% alkaline to 20% acidic. Many humans on the planet don't have a balanced pH level because the main foods that create alkalinity are primarily fresh, raw fruits and vegetables. What happens when you spend years consuming mostly cooked, dead, processed, genetically modified foods? Acidosis, inflammation, excess mucus, interstitial lymphatic constipation and/or autointoxication.

autointoxication [auto-, self + toxi-, poison] (n) (lit. "self-poisoning") is a term used by William Howard Hay, M.D. in his book A New Health Era (1933) to refer to what he considered the most fundamental cause of disease; i.e., accumulation of excess acid in the body (acidosis) which occurs when the body's intake and production of acid residue exceeds its ability to adequately eliminate it. This occurs primarily as a result of unwise food choices, improper food combining, and consumption of chemical food additives and drugs.

The most powerful method of removing mucus from the intestines and mucoid from the organs and lymph glands is the combined cleansing effect of a non-mucus/mucoid-forming diet
and fasting.

Allopathic medicine never gets to the root of the problem, it always deals with the symptoms. You can't make billions of dollars by telling someone to change their diet and lifestyle, but you can through the prescribing of chemical medicine-which in most cases makes the situation worse (chemical medicine is acidic.) This is the reason why I am so in love with the power of raw foods. And be careful because many "raw" foods are still acid forming- especially raw "gourmet" recipes that contain nuts and seeds. Excess fat (even good fats from avocados, coconuts, oils, nuts/seeds) can cause autointoxication because our body will only utilize a certain amount of fats per day, and its a lot less then what we eat. With those exceptions, many people can go on an all fruit and vegetable diet and see great improvements in there health and energy.

Detoxification will usually occur and the more you have abused your body with poor diet or drug use (this includes medications), the more difficult your detoxifixcation process can be. You may experience temporary headaches, rashes, weight gain, dramatic weight loss, constipation, diahrea, mood swings, fatigue, cold and flu like symptoms (especially if you suppressed your colds/flu with chemical medicine or antibiotics in the past), etc. The "detox crisis" or "detox event" is a positive thing. Wait for it and greet it with joy! Your body will always get sick before it gets better because it is doing whatever it needs to rid the body of toxins. Yes, it can be scary to take your health into your own hands but it doesn't have to be. Read books on natural health, educate yourself. Begin juicing and eating more raw foods. Experiment with a vegan diet and see how you feel.

I promise you won't regret it :)

This is the most accurate list I have found on Alkaline vs. Acid foods. I highly recommend "The Detox Miracle Source Book" by Dr.Robert Morse for a more extensive/accurate list of foods.

This blog post is dedicated to my boyfriend Dan who inspires me everyday to choose life :)

Use Your Mental Super Powers!

I am always working on myself. I don't know if "working" is the right word. I guess what I mean is- I am always observing the dominant patterns in my life and doing my best to be aware of them and how they either work for or against me.

I am using this time of traveling with Dan to learn as much as I can about myself and the direction I would like my life to go. I know I can't control all the little details-but I do have preferences and I choose to focus on them. Because no matter what I think I want to manifest in my life, I am always coming back to the realization that it all starts with the mind.

In the morning and at night I work at re-training myself with positive affirmations. If there is one thing I am aware of, it is that our thoughts have powerful dominion over our reality. I'm sure you agree that our thought processes can either bring us down or lift us up- depending on the perspectives we choose to view the circumstances of our lives.

So as I was saying, I have been playing an audio mp3 that I downloaded called "Self-Esteem Affirmations: Motivational Affirmations for Building Confidence and Self Worth," by Louise Hay. I play it at night when I go to sleep and in the morning while I am still waking up. You can find it here:

Or search for it on itunes. This one has some funny 70's music on it about half way through so I may also buy a more recent recording of affirmations done by her, I know she has a few great ones.

While I sleep I have positive thought forms constantly bombarding my subconscious mind. I have been doing this for 2 days now...I'll have to let you know how it goes :) In time, this will hopefully cancel out any false beliefs I have about myself and if it doesn't...well...then I am sure at least it didn't hurt the situation.

Our ability to choose positive perspectives on any given situation, in my opinion, steers the direction of our lives. Positive thinking creates positive feelings and experiences. That is because you are holding your being in a high vibrational energy field which attracts people, situations, and experiences that reside in that matching field of vibration.

What I remember most about the day that I met Dan, was the way that I felt all throughout that day before we crossed paths. I remember that morning, writing in my little black book in very big letters "LIVE WITHIN THE REALM OF LIMITLESS POSSIBILITIES." And that whole day was magical for me because I continued to create and sustain a high energy field around myself. It was magical that when I bumped into him I was in the middle of talking about juice fasting, and had seen one of his videos only a few months before while doing my first juice cleanse. And then he appeared to assist me in the next one. I told the universe I wanted a partner in health and that is definitely what I got. (Maybe a little more health then I bargained for ;) wink wink.)

Next thing you know my life spiraled into a whole new reality, learning new things, going to new places and meeting so many wonderful people committed to rediscovering their health and well being.

To wrap up my ramblings...I believe moving yourself into these high energy fields by thinking positive thoughts--- or just keeping your mind open, aware and unattached to any expectations ---will greatly improve your life, especially if you are someone with a strong mind, (like me).

And this is what I am focusing on for the time being.

I will leave you with a little inspiration...

Overcoming Obstacles

I had an amazing day today. One of those God-filled days where you feel divinely connected and completely relaxed within the center of your being. Everything feels just right, no where to go, nothing to do. Just flowing with the day in complete harmony. These are the days that heal me. I know it has something to do with surrendering to spirit. But this feeling of harmony doesn't come often. If anything, I may catch fleeting moments during the day of this feeling of perfection.

Most of the time, however, my mind is busy yacking...usually going on and on about something that doesn't matter whatsoever...Even when I am taking a bath contemplating spiritual pursuits or God or enlightenment. I am still busy in my head, too busy to sit with myself and be PRESENT. Haven't we figured it out yet? You don't experience God through the intellect. I will never attain any type of spiritual illumination tomorrow or the next day---this feeling of harmony and connection to God only happens within the present moment.

And that's what I got right today. I am over being stressed about my life purpose, my path, my relationship, my food habits. No amount of mental activity is going to be beneficial for any of those areas of my life. When I start worrying about these things, its not because anything is going wrong...I just fear that it will in the future. I over evaluate everything!

Today I relaxed and laughed alot. I allowed myself to be playful and just do whatever the hell I wanted to do. Which ended up being writing in my blog, taking a long bath, cupcaking with my love, laughing and playing with him and being total nerds, and then taking a divine nap with the sunlight on my face. Later we went out...I swear I didn't stay in the hotel all day.

To make a long story short. Today I felt blessed. Because I was out of my head and into my heart.

Feast your eyes! Who says a raw food diet is limited? In the past 7 months I have had so much fun experimenting with different raw food recipes. When you first go raw, it is so important to JUICE in order to cleanse out old metabolic waste hanging out in the GI tract from the way you used to eat. I recommend doing a 7 day juice fast before switching over to raw foods because you get so cleaned out that by the time you are done with the fast, simple raw food recipes look and taste heavenly. The reason is because you cleansed out your palette! You no longer need all the salt, oils and fats to be satisfied.

People choose to switch over to a raw food diet for a number of reasons, but I think the overall point is to get your health in gear. Often folks try it out for a few weeks and end up feeling so good that they just continue. That's what happened to me. I lost 15 pounds or so, had wayyy more energy, increased mental clarity, brighter mood, a sense of being more spiritually me it was like a no brainer! What I have learned since spending time with Dan is that there are so many people who NEED this now- its a life or death situation. And so more then anything, raw foods has given me a strong sense of purpose- to help whomever I can to learn about detoxification and to support them in this process.

I think of it like going straight into the transformational fire of life. It feels extreme to a body who's cells are made up of a SAD diet but as you get cleaned out you realize that it isn't so extreme after all. Eating dead animal is extreme, cutting out organs and taking 8 different medications made of chemical medicine is extreme. But anyways, that revelation didn't hit me until after my mind was clear from juicing for several days.

I am not against anyone's way of eating- but I do think our world is way off balance. So many people eat because they just don't have anything else exciting going on in their life. Maybe they work a 9-5 that they hate and the lunch break is all they look forward to so they can numb themselves out for the next few hours in order to make it through the end of the work shift. We can't deny that food is a drug for many people. I guess I could go on and on about how changing your food can change your life but I have a feeling I may just be preaching to the choir :)

Anyways, I loved going through my old instagram photos and looking at the beautiful foods I have been eating the last several months. It has been so much fun for me experiencing this lifestyle and I am TRULY grateful for it. I feel I v'e recovered a lost part of myself in the process.
